What is The Silky Road?
The Silky Road is a global procurement marketplace that connects verified buyers with pre-vetted vendors. Buyers post RFQs, receive AI-scored proposals, and manage payments through milestone escrow — all in one platform.
How does KYC / KYB verification work?
We use a three-tier verification system. Tier 1 verifies email and phone. Tier 2 performs identity document verification (KYC). Tier 3 is full business verification (KYB) including company registration and beneficial ownership. Verified buyers get instant RFQ publishing access.
How does the escrow system protect me?
When you award a contract, funds are held in a secure escrow vault — not released to the vendor until you approve each milestone. If a dispute arises, our neutral mediation team reviews evidence from both sides and makes a binding decision. We have had zero unresolved payment disputes to date.
What is AML screening and why does it matter?
Anti-Money Laundering (AML) screening checks every participant against global sanctions lists, PEP databases, and adverse media sources. This ensures you are never unknowingly transacting with restricted entities — protecting your business from regulatory and reputational risk.
Can I award a contract to multiple vendors?
Yes. The Silky Road supports split awards, allowing you to divide scope across multiple vendors with separate milestone escrow accounts for each. This is common for large projects requiring different specialist skills.

Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using The Silky Road platform ("Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Platform. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and The Silky Road.

2. Platform Description

The Silky Road is a B2B procurement marketplace that connects buyers and vendors in the GCC and Middle East region. The Platform facilitates RFQ posting, vendor matching, proposal management, and milestone-based payments through escrow services.

3. Account Registration

To use certain features of the Platform, you must register an account. You agree to: provide accurate and complete information; maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials; notify us immediately of any unauthorised access; accept responsibility for all activities under your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Verification (KYC/KYB)

The Platform operates a tiered verification system. Users may be required to complete identity verification (KYC) and business verification (KYB) processes to access certain features. You agree to provide accurate verification documents and acknowledge that verification levels affect your Platform access and transaction limits.

5. User Conduct

You agree not to: use the Platform for any unlawful purpose; submit false or misleading information in RFQs or proposals; interfere with the Platform's operation or security; attempt to circumvent the escrow system; engage in fraud, money laundering, or other financial crimes. Violation of these terms may result in immediate account suspension.

6. Escrow & Payments

All transactions on the Platform are facilitated through our milestone-based escrow system. Funds are held securely and released upon buyer approval of completed milestones. The Platform charges a service fee on completed transactions as detailed in our pricing page. Disputes are handled through our mediation process.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, design, and technology of the Platform are owned by The Silky Road. Users retain ownership of content they submit but grant us a licence to display and process it for Platform purposes. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Platform without written consent.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Silky Road shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform. Our total liability shall not exceed the fees paid by you in the twelve months preceding the claim.

9. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Amman, Jordan.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or Platform notification. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
